WORKS IS NOT ENOUGH- ACTS 10
7-17-21

1.

THIS SAME JESUS THROUGH WHOM WE HAVE SALVATION FROM OUR SINS
IS ALSO JUDGE OF THE LIVING AND THE DEAD.

Ac 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

JESUS WILL JUDGE EVERYONE,
TWO GROUPS WILL BE JUDGED BY JESUS.
THOSE WHO ARE ALIVE IN CHRIST.
EVERY CHRISTIAN WILL GIVE AN ACCOUNTING OF THEIR LIVES
AND WILL RECEIVE REWARDS IN HEAVEN ACCORDINGLY.

THOSE WHO DIE IN THEIR SIN WILL BE JUDGED BY JESUS AT THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT. ALL WHO ARE AT THIS JUDGMENT WILL SPEND AN ETERNITY IN HELL.

2. CORNELIUS HAD GOOD WORKS SO MUCH THAT GOD NOTICED, BUT THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH.
HE HAD TO HAVE JESUS.

Ac 10:43 To him (JESUS) give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
(KJV)

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) {by...: or, by whose grace}
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. {ordained: or, prepared}
(KJV)

Ac 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM WILL NOT PERISH
BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.
