Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

9 Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
11 Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.

IN STUDYING THE PSALMS ESPECIALLY THE ONES ACCREDITED TO DAVID I HAVE BEEN SURPRISED MAYBE BY DAVID'S HUMANITY.. HE WAS JUST AS HUMAN AS YOU AND I ARE AND HE EXPERIENCED THE SAME STRUGGLES THAT YOU AND I DO AND MAYBE EVEN A LITTLE WORSE. I AM SURE THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN TEMPTED AS THE KING OF ISRAEL WOULD HAVE BEEN BUT IT'S ALL A STRUGGLE.

I AM ENCOURAGED BY THE FACT THAT A MAN DESCRIBED BY GOD AS A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART STRUGGLED A LOT.

OFTEN TIMES WE PLACE PEOPLE ON A PEDISTLE AND ASSUME THEY ARE BETTER THAN WE ARE.

I AM NOT THOUGH TRYING TO LIFT MY SELF UP ABOVE DAVID BUT I WANT TO LEARN FROM HIM AND HIS DESIRE TO COMPLETELY SERVE GOD .

WE ALL KNOW ABOUT DAVID AND BATHSHEBA AND HER HUSBAND URIAH. WHICH HE REPENTED AND RECEIVED FORGIVENESS FOR THAT. DAVID HAD MANY STRUGGLES TEMPTATIONS, WITH OPPRESSORS AND THOSE WANTING TO RELIEVE HIM OF HIS THRONE, AND MANY OTHER THINGS.

WE KNOW THIS BECAUSE DAVID SPOKE MUCH ABOUT GOD'S MERCY.

NOT GETTING WHAT WE DESERVE FOR OUR SIN AND DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD.

101 VERSES OF THE PSALMS SPEAK OF GOD'S MERCY

Ps 13:5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Ps 136:1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

YOU CAN'T SPEAK OF MERCY THAT MANY TIMES WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING AND EXPERIENCING THAT MERCY.

I WAS ALSO INTRIGUED SOME BY THE NUMBER OF TIMES DAVID WHEN PRAYING WOULD ASK OR ENTREAT OR BEG GOD TO HEAR HIS PRAYER.

YOU WOULD THINK THAT GOD WOULD HAVE HIS EARS OPEN TO DAVID ALL THE TIME

THERE ARE MANY VERSES WHERE DAVID IS ASKING GOD TO HEAR HIS PRAYER OR GIVE EAR TO MY PRAYER

Ps 84:8 ? O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
Ps 86:1 ? <
> Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
Ps 86:6 Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
Ps 88:2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;

Ps 102:1 ? <
> Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee. {of: or, for}
Ps 102:17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
Ps 109:4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Ps 141:2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. {set...: Heb. directed}

IT IS NOT THAT GOD CAN'T HEAR. HE DOES NOT NEED HEARING AIDS.

IT IS THAT SOMETIMES HE HEARS AND RESPONDS LATER.

Lu 1:13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
Lu 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

ALL THE TIME WHEN OUR PRAYERS ARE HINDERED OR NOT GETTING GOD'S ATTENTION IT IS BECAUSE OF US. WE HINDER OUR OWN PRAYER.

UNCONFESSED SIN IN OUR LIVES HINDERS OUR PRAYERS. DAVID SAID

Psalm 66:18 (KJV) 18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

SOMETIMES GOD REFUSES TO HEAR US WHEN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR SPOUSES IS NOT RIGHT OR THERE IS FAMILY DISCORD

1Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE HUSBAND AND WIFE IS TO REFLECT THAT BETWEEN CHRIST AND THE CHURCH

THOSE WHO ARE RIGHTEOUS AND UPRIGHT GOD IS ATTENTIVE TO THEIR PRAYERS

1Pe 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. {against: Gr. upon}

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear (Isaiah 59:2 NKJV). The psalmist wrote, If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear (Psalm 55:18 NKJV).

UNFORGIVING HEARTS HINDER OUR PRAYER

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR US AS BELIEVERS IS TO STAY CLEAN. CLEAN UP OUR SINS DAILY WITH REPENTANCE AND SEEKING GOD AND HIS WORD FOR OUR CONTINUAL MOVEMENT TOWARD HOLINESS.

IF WE HARBOR UNFORGIVENESS TOWARD OTHERS GUESS WHAT?

Jesus said, And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins (Mark 11:25 NIV)

OUR PRAYERS CAN BE HINDERED BY OUR OWN SELFISH MOTIVES.

JAMES THE HALF BROTHER OF JESUS SPEAKS OF LACK OF PRAYER AND UNANSWERED PRAYER.

Jas 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? {fightings: or, brawlings} {lusts: or, pleasures}
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. {lusts: or, pleasures}
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
(KJV)

JOHN SAYS

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Isa 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. {make...: Heb. multiply prayer} {blood: Heb. bloods}

TURNING AWAY FROM SCRIPTURE WILL CAUSE OUR PRAYERS TO BE HINDERED

Proverbs 28:9 (KJV) 9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

THE PSALMIST IS CALLING ON GOD TO TURN THEM AS A NATION BACK TO HIM AND CAUSE REPENTANCE TO COME TO THE NATION WHEN GOD WILL HEAR THEIR PRAYER

Psalm 80:3-7 (KJV) 3 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
4 O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

UNCONFESSED SIN WILL HINDER OUR PRAYERS

GOD HEARS THE CRY OF THE HUMBLE AND THE RIGHTEOUS SEEKING GOD

Ps 10:17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: {prepare: or, establish}
Ps 17:1  <
> Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

Ps 86:1  <
> Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy. {A Prayer...: or, A Prayer, being a Psalm of David}

Ps 143:1  <
> Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness

.

Ne 1:6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.

THERE ARE MANY THINGS WE ASK GOD FOR WHEN WE ARE NOT IN THE PLACE OR ATTITUDE WHERE GOD WANTS US TO BE.

IF WE SEEK HIM AND HIS KINGDOM FIRST. IF WE DESIRE HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS TO BE EXPRESSED THROUGH US ALL OF OUR NEEDS WILL BE MET

Matthew 6:33 (KJV) 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

DOUBT IS ALSO A HINDRANCE TO OUR PRAYERS

James 1:5-7 (KJV) 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Isa 59:1 ? Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear

THE THING THAT GOD DESIRES MOST IS FOR THE UNSAVED THE LOST SINNER TO CRY OUT TO HIM FOR FORGIVENSS AND SALVATION THEN ALL OF HEAVEN REJOICES BECAUSE A LOST SOUL IS SAVED.

I DON'T KNOW ALL OF WHAT TRIALS YOU ARE FACING NOW, I KNOW OF SOME OF THE TRIALS. BUT IN ALL OF THEM REGARDLESS OF THE INTENSITY OR DANGET WE MUST HAVE FAITH.

OUR FAITH MUST BE IN OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST THE FAITHFUL

IF YOU DON'T KNOW JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR YOU NEED TO TODAY.

5 QUESTIONS HAVE YOU EVER TOLD A LIE? IF YES SCRIPTURE SAYS ALL LIARS WILL HAVE THEIR PLACE IN THE LAKE OF FIRE, HELL!

HAVE YOU EVER STOLEN ANY THING AT ALL REGARDLESS OF VALUE?

HAVE YOU USED GOD'S NAME AS A CURSE WORD? THIS IS BLASPHEMY!

AFTER ONLY 3 OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS HOW ARE YOU DOING? MOST ARE GUILTY BY NOW.

YOU HAVE TO STAND BEFORE GOD AND BE JUDGED BY THE 10 COMMANDMENTS. ARE YOU GUILTY OR INNOCENT?

WOULD YOU GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL? YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO HELL! OUR GUILT IS WHY JESUS CAME TO THE EARTH TO BE THE PERFECT PERMANENT SACRIFICE FOR OUR SIN..

BY HIS SHED BLOOD GOD'S WRATH AGAINST SIN IS SATISFIED AND WE CAN HAVE OUR SENTENCE FOR OUR SIN SATISFIED BY JESUS PAYMENT FOR OUR SIN.

YOU MUST REPENT OR TURN AWAY FROM YOU SINS AND ASK JESUS TO FORGIVE YOUR SINS. HE WILL. HE WILL DECLARE YOU FOREVER ACCEPTABLE TO GOD THE FATHER AND GIVE YOU THE HOLY SPIRIT TO LIVE IN YOU TO HELP YOU LIVE YOU LIFE HONORING GOD AND UNDERSTANDING THE SCRIPTURE.

I URGE IF YOU HAVEN'T YET TO TRUST JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR.
